Where It All Began

This was the first photograph of a bus that I ever took. Devon General AEC Regent V / Willowbrook No.504 approaches Newton Abbot from Kingsteignton in June 1979 on the 187 service from Exeter. This bus was one of a batch of 8 delivered to Devon General in 1964. Numbered 501 - 508 (501-8RUO) they were ordered following teething trouble with the company's first Leyland Atlanteans. All were withdrawn by 1980.
